Privacy Policy

We’re committed to protecting our users’ privacy.

We don’t use or disclose any personal information for any other purpose than for which it was provided.  For example, when users subscribe to receive our new posts, we collect their email address, and name (if they choose to provide it).

We don’t, and we won’t, disclose this information to any third party without the user’s consent.

Our web host and some search-engine optimisation plugins on our content-management system record some data to coordinate our search-engine optimisation and enhance our site’s user experience.  This may include the user’s IP address, top-level domain name (e.g. .co.nz, .govt.nz, etc.); the date, time and duration of site visits; interactions on our site; and the browser and/or operating system used.  These statistics do not include any information which personally identifies users.

Under the Privacy Act 2020, users have the right to ask for a copy of any personal information we hold about them and to have it corrected or updated.

All enquiries should be sent to editor@defamationupdate.co.nz.  Emails submitted to this address are also handled and saved in accordance with the Act.
